Now that the NEET examination for the year 2019 is complete, the next step is the counselling procedure conducted by the respective state government and MCI separately. The counselling session will be conducted in two ways; All India Quota where 15% of seats will be selected by the Medical Council of India and the rest 85% of seat selection will be conducted by the State Quota.

Who will conduct NEET counselling in Punjab?

The NEET counselling for 2019 in Punjab will be organized by Research of Baba Farid University along with the Government of Punjab and the Department of Medical Education. The admission of aspirants will be done through the scores obtained in the NEET UG exam at both governmental as well as non-governmental colleges.

How will the counselling be conducted?

The NEET counselling at Punjab will be conducted through Online Mode. It will be carried out in the fourth week of June. All the candidates will have to register themselves online to attend the counselling. Hereafter, once the registration is completed, the selection authority will release the merit list of candidates with their names and ranks on the website. Based on the marks obtained in the merit, candidates will be invited for counselling. If there are seats left vacant even after the online counselling in such scenarios physical counselling will be conducted by the authorities.

What will be the selection process for NEET Counselling Punjab?

Admission to all private and governmental colleges of MBBS and BDS will be done solely through scores obtained in the NEET exam. All those who have appeared for the NEET exam and have their names listed in the merit list can participate in the counselling process by registering themselves through the 85% of the state quota list online by visiting the online website. This will be followed by the release of inter-se-merit which will be declared on the basis of the scores obtained in the merit list.

What is the payment method for NEET Counselling 2019?

Once the seat allotment is finalized it will be followed by the submission of the fee through a Bank Challan once the verification process is completed. The aspirant will have to draw a demand draft in favour of the Registrar, BFUHS, Payable at Faridkot.

Is there any reservation criterion for NEET Counselling for 2019?

The reservation for the state quota seats will be determined by the Government institutes in various categories for rendering admission to UG Medical and dental courses. Following is the percentage of reservations for medical and dental seats:

Important Points to Remember:

  • The allotment of seats is completely provisional in nature which is subject to verification of all the original documents by the allocated college at the time of admission
  • Candidates who are availed seats at the time of counselling are required to take a print of the allotment letter by downloading it online
  • Furthermore, they must ensure to report to the allotted college on the scheduled date along with their original and photocopy of documents in addition to a printed copy of the allotment letter.
