NEET is a National level exam which is conducted for rendering admission to MBBS and BDS across different states in India. The exam is a crucial entrance test from the admission point of view which enables students to gain admission to top medical and dental colleges across the country. However, the examination is not the end of the road. It is followed by Counselling which will be conducted by the MCI and State authorities. Herein, students must note that the All India Quota (AIQ) will be done by the Medical Council of India for 15% of seats. Whereas, for the remaining 85% seats the admissions are done through state quota.

Here is a detailed explanation of the NEET UG counselling process for Madhya Pradesh is as follows:

The NEET UG Counselling for Madhya Pradesh will be conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) through online mode. The state government will be conducting three rounds of counselling including the final mop-up round for filling the vacant seats. After the release of the result, the state authority will be releasing a provisional merit list online enlisting the names of the candidates who have qualified for the NEET examination. Later, all the candidates whose name is mentioned in the list can go on to filling the forms for counselling. Only those candidates who have registered themselves will be eligible to participate in the MP MBBS 2019 seat allotment process.

A total of 1750 seats for MBBS and 1164 seats for BDS will be granted in government and medical colleges in the state. The first round of MBBS counselling results will be released during the first week of July 2019, while the results of the second round of MBBS counselling will be released during the second week of August 2019.

What is the step-wise procedure of counselling in MP?

Candidates will have to register for the MP MBBS 2019 counselling through online mode. Below listed is a detailed stepwise process which is as follows:

Registration

All the aspirants will be required to register themselves for the MBBS MP 2019 online. For logging in to the website, you must enter the application form number as well as the password rendered at the time of form filling. After this, you will be transferred to another page where you need to fill in your personal details including your name, mother's name, father's name, and gender as well as other information mentioned in the application form.

Also, the candidates will be required to upload their documents online as well as make the payment of the application form online using either a medium of debit card/ credit card/ net banking, e-wallet, or IMPS.

Filling of Choices and locking of seats

Firstly, the candidates need to log in using their NEET login credentials including NEET Roll number and Password. This is further continued by the process of choice filling which is as follows:

On logging in into the page, click on the option 'Choice Filling and Locking' and select your choice of college preference, whether they would want to join a private or government college or both.

After this, they must select the actual number of preferences they want for MP MBBS 2019 counselling. Candidates can change their preference order by using the move up or down button.

There is no embargo on the number of college students can select. After all the preferences are selected click on the 'review selected preferences' button.

Students need to be careful about the order of preferences and only when fully confident, must lock the preference. The selected options will be shown on the screen and a One Time Password (OTP Number) will be sent to the registered number wherein they can lock their choice by entering the OTP number and clicking on proceed to lock choices.

In case the choices are not locked, such choices will not be considered for MP MBBS seat allotment.

Allotment of Seats

After the choices are filled, the authority will proceed with conducting the rounds of counselling separately. The allotment will be done on the basis of preference of college, availability of seats, state merit rank and state reservation criteria.

Release of Counselling Result

The counselling result will be published separately for different counselling processes in the form of a PDF file. The result of the first round will be released during the first week of July and the second round result will be released during the second week of August. After this, if there are vacant seats left, then the final mop-up round will be conducted.

Reporting to the college

After the results are published, students must report to the allotted college. However, before this, they must download the MP MBBS seat allotment letter by entering the required credentials. It is necessary to be noted that all the selected students must report to their allotted college within the stipulated date and time along with the allotment letter. They must also carry the mentioned documents for verification after the completion of the process.

  • NEET Score Card 2019
  • NEET Admit Card 2019
  • Class 10 Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate
  • Class 12 Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Income Certificate
  • Affidavit of not included in the domicile of the state other than MP
  • Certificate class certificate (PH/SN/FN)
