Thus it is our collective duty to make this planet sustainable for all creatures thereby eliminating the rampant exploitation in the hands of humans in addition to making wise use of resources. ‘Hirvya Vata’ is a beautiful narration written by Dr. Vinata Apte wherein the author touches these aspects with profundity. In this book, she has highlighted the very need to preserve nature through human measures in addition to highlighting the experiences she encountered during her visit to Pyongyang in China.
The author shares her experience of meeting people in the foreign land and the commonality she could trace in them. From their lifestyle to thinking as well as thoughts on preserving nature was no separate to ones that the author had. Throughout the narration, the author highlights on the importance of recycling old things and transforming them into new materials for example – how people in the village created low-cost bulb using a plastic bottle, water, bleaching powder and sunlight.
