The NEET UG 2019 entrance got completed successfully on the 5th of May, 2019. The results will be released at the end of May 2019 after which will begin the counselling process from the fourth week of June simultaneously across different states.

NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national-level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for rendering admission to Mental and Dental courses in India. While there is no particular examination conducted for these courses, admission and seat allocation to over 85% of seats in each state is done through state quota. The counselling process is divided into the All India Rank seat quota and the State quota.

An official schedule of the NEET counselling for Tamil Nadu is yet to be released. Below we have enlisted the tentative schedule which is as follows:

Admission Process

The counselling process will be carried out in a systematic step-wise manner which is listed below:

Filling of Application

  • The application forms can be filled out online and downloaded by visiting the official website of NEET

  • All candidates who have qualified in the NEET exam are required to fill out and submit the application form for counselling

  • Herein, the candidates would be required to first register themselves and log in using the credentials sent to them at the time of application form filling for the exam

  • Later they must fill in all the required details. Students must be extra careful when including the information so as to avoid any confusion and error during the verification

  • After filling out the application online, candidates must take a printout of the same and send it via courier or speed post to the following address:

Payment of Application Fee

Aspirants need to submit a DD in addition to the application form which must be drawn in favour of 'The Secretary, Selection Committee' Kilpauk, Chennai-10 payable at Chennai

The application fee for GC will be INR 500/- while candidates belonging to SC and ST are exempted from the payment of the application fee.

Merit List Release

After the authorities have received the application forms, the next step they will release the merit list which would be prepared on the basis of scores acquired in the qualifying 10+2 and NEET 2019 scores

It will be published online and all candidates who have their names listed will be notified for counselling on the basis of the merit list

Choice Filling and Submission

  • Every candidate needs to mention their choice of college at the time of counselling

  • There is no limit to the number of choices that can be filled

  • Candidates must mandatorily be present for the counselling on the said date and venue. They can hereby download their call letters from the official website

Allotment of Seats

The seats will be allotted at the time of counselling which will be decided on the basis of availability of seats, filled choices and merit scored.

Reporting

  • After the allotment of seats and if the candidate is satisfied with the choice allotted, they must appear at the allotted college on the said date to confirm their admission.

  • They must carry along their allotment letter, fees and original documents to the college

Furthermore, for Tamil Nadu NEET counselling, each candidate will be required to go through the medical examination at the respective colleges

Necessary Documents to be carried

Each candidate will be required to carry the following document to their respective college. They are as follows:

  • Class 10th Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate
  • Class 12th or equivalent exam Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate
  • Class 12th Hall Ticket
  • Transfer Certificate or School Leaving Certificate
  • NEET Admit Card
  • NEET Score Card
  • Category Certificate
  • Nativity Certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate of proof of study from VIII to XII standard
  • Permanent Community Certificate Card
  • First graduate certificate (if applicable)
