The Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG) – 2023 is set to benefit students in several ways.
First, it helps to reduce the stress that students face in securing high marks in their Class 12 Board Examination. Previously, students needed to score above 95% to secure admission to their preferred university. However, with the introduction of CUET (UG) – 2023, the focus is now on standardized evaluation, thereby alleviating the pressure on students to obtain exceptionally high scores.
Additionally, the CUET (UG) – 2023 ensures that the marking system is standardized across different boards. Since the pattern and scoring system of questions can vary significantly between different boards, the CUET (UG) – 2023 helps to create a level playing field. By standardizing the evaluation process, subjectivity in the assessment of descriptive-type papers can be avoided.
Moreover, the CUET (UG) – 2023 exam pattern comprises objective-type multiple-choice questions. This makes the evaluation process more objective and transparent, and therefore less prone to subjectivity. The Computer-Based Test mode used in CUET (UG) – 2023 ensures that the result processing is done without human intervention, making the process more efficient and reliable.
Another significant advantage of CUET (UG) – 2023 is that it is based on the Class 12 syllabus. Hence, students do not need to prepare for it separately. The exam covers a wide range of subjects, languages, and a general test, giving students ample options to choose from. With 27 subjects, 33 languages, and a general test to choose from, students can select the subject, language, general test of their choice as per the requirements of the university to which they seek admission.
CUET (UG) – 2023 is conducted in multiple languages, catering to the needs of students from different states and regions. Drawing from the National Education Policy (NEP), the exam will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, and other languages, providing greater accessibility to students and making the exam more inclusive.
Preparing for both CUET (UG) – 2023 and the Board Examinations may seem like a daunting task for students, but the good news is that the syllabus for the subject/domain tests of CUET (UG) – 2023 will be based on Class 12. This means that students do not have to prepare for both exams separately, as they can focus on their Class 12 curriculum, which will automatically prepare them for CUET (UG) – 2023.
Moreover, the effort that students put into the CUET (UG) – 2023 exam will also help them prepare well for their Board Examinations. It will strengthen their learning and enhance their understanding of the subject matter. They will also get the opportunity to practice answering objective-type questions. The exam offers a choice of 10 subjects from three sections: Section IA, Section IB, and Section II. Section III is the General Test. The examination will be conducted over multiple days, with three slots per day.
